Camping 2011 - Taidnapam Park

This campground is on Riffe Lake between Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier. It's very woodsy, with gigantic Douglas Fir trees. Definitely rates high for scenery. On the downside though, the fishing wasn't that great and the campsites are way too close together. Our camper doesn't have curtains...and we could have definitely used some. Plus the "neighbors" stayed up late and were not considerate of others. That's ok, we payed them back when our kids got up at 6am! Ha! That's what they get!!!

Since we were so close to Mt. Rainier, we took a quick day trip to the park. Mt. Rainier is 14,400 ft at it's peak, the tallest in Washington State. As you can see, it's still quite snow covered. There was plenty of snow still on the ground. And the waterfalls were flowing beautifully.

By the way, this was the kids first trip to a National Park!
